Now, I am a massive fan of Paul Costelloe. I always look forward to his show at London Fashion Week. However, it's not just because of the clothes but because he always manages to create the perfect ambience. He thoughtfully chooses sublime venues, the surroundings of which always show off his clothes in a great way.
This season his collection was more glitz and glam than usual. He chose a equally opulent venue of the Hotel Cafe Royal. The stunning high decadent ceilings were perfect for the runway show taking place beneath.
As per usual his SS16 collection had a range of elegant dresses. However, this year his designs were more risk taking than others. The future is bright and definitely orange as neon orange numbers boldly went down the catwalk. I loved the retro feel that was wonderfully finished off with white rimmed sunglasses and wedges.
We all know Paul Costelloe loves a jacquard print that he gave a new lift to this season by adding metallic tones as well as a few edgy cut-outs. Mixing his trusty classic look with a modern twist was a lovely breath of fresh air to his great archive of designs.
This season was definitely a risk for Costelloe especially when formal dresses accessorised with backpacks started emerging. However, i think it was a risk worth taking. I love the fact that he has made his style more accessible and shown how versatile his designs can be.
