Oversized blazers and over-the-knee boots

10.24.2017

Yes, I am aware that this is a LOOOOOOOK.

Recently, myself and the catwalks have been quite obsessed with snakeskin print. I literally inwardly squealed at Topshop SS18's show when a snakeskin jacket came down the catwalk, followed by several other sassy items in the same print.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for some 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍.

However, I am aware that the print isn't for everyone. After all, it's not exactly a subtle look.

So, if you want to give a nod to the trend without feeling OTT, I'd suggest a pair of hella cool over-the-knee boots with a pop of print.

Thanks to Balenciaga and every cool girl who stepped onto the street during fashion week XXL long boots are back and this time, it seems like they're here to stay.

No pain, no gain - aye girls?

Before I knew it, a pair of snakeskin boots had shot up to the top of my wish list, and after an unsuccessful eBay purchase (stupid big feet), I went in search of some online.

Finally, I came across ones that were on-point in every way from every Insta gals fave shop, Miss Pap.

I mean, just look at them, they are FIERCE.  I also thought the monochrome snakeskin print was ever-so-slightly more understated, and therefore easier to look on-trend. You know, instead of  *whispers* tacky.

However, even I was a littler dubious about how I could make such a out-there item look sartorial and sassy, and not, well, utterly sh*t.

All I can say is thank goodness for the oversized blazer trend! The tailored oversized item can literally make any piece of footwear look tres chic.

 And I mean, anything.

Now, unless you've been living under a rock, you will know that red is the hottest colour at the moment.

No pun intended.

I saw several fashionista's over fashion week rock the hue head-to-toe and it looked incredible. Fair to say, I was crushing hard. However, £79.99 for a red blazer on Zara seemed just a little bit too much commitment.

Luckily, Miss Pap once again came throuuuuugh and have a perfect red longline blazer dress for just £35.

But that wasn't enough - oh no.

As much as I wanted to mix textures and create a utterly Cher from Clueless look, I also needed to add a bit more red, in order to fulfill my red colour block dreams.

So, I went Bella Hadid on yo ass and added some skinny red specs.

Believe it or not, these glasses are actually a fancy dress accessory and are meant for a Dracula costume. But hey, it's close enough to Halloween, right? And for £1.29 I was not gunna say no.
